The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in partnership with the Cane and Bamboo Technology Centre (CBTC), Guwahati is implementing the 2nd Phase of the Cane and Bamboo Networking Project titled “Promoting Livelihoods in North East India” with 4 (four) components:

 

with a Project schedule time of 4 (four) years.

Under this Project, UNIDO is looking for a candidate under the Job titled “Technical Project Officer (TPO)”. The incumbent, under the supervision of the Back Stopping Officer-UNIDO Head Quarter and Director-Cane and Bamboo Technology Centre, will contribute to our day to day implementation and coordination of the project activities. He will be stationed at the Cane and Bamboo Technology Centre, Guwahati. The desired qualification will be a University Degree preferably in Engineering, Rural Development or other relevant discipline with at least 2 (two) years of practical experience in Projects or Civil Services. Experience in the Bamboo/Wood Processing Sector will be an added advantage. The candidate should have basic knowledge of Project Management activities and co-ordinate Project Monitoring and Evaluation. He/She should be self-starter, meticulous and well-organized at work, service oriented approach with sound judgment; should be an excellent team player with ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines; having the ability to manage multiple tasks, good analytical and report writing skills, excellent communication, public relations and inter-personal skills and thorough knowledge of MS-Office application. The incumbent should have good command of English language and willingness to travel within the North Eastern Region (NER) and occasionally to the National Capital Region (NCR). Candidates belonging from the North Eastern Region only needs to apply. The job is purely temporary and the initial hiring period will be 6 (six) months as provisionary period and depending upon performance, his/her term may be extended at regular intervals till the project comes to an end.
